It describes how the embryology of the gut starts off as a straight tube and talks about the intestinal rotation. The video focuses on the foregut, midgut, and hindgut. It describes where they come from, blood supply, and parasympathetic and sympathetic innervation. The notes are written on teh screen as they are talked about.

The first link is a full screen version of the animation, which shows the development of the GI tract. It is very detailed and easy to follow. The video contains many labels and descriptions on what is occurring during the different stages. The only drawback is a lack of narration, just dramatic background music, but the video still serves as a good resource to see the development in progress.

The second link uses the video in the first link and provides narration to the development of the digestive system. The only drawback is that the video is a small part of the screen


Gastrointestinal Embryology, Batch 10 (23:05)

Textbook images are used to teach GI embryology. At 1:51, a table of structures with artery, innervations, and derivatives are discussed in a one table summary. Pancreas, spleen, rotation of the foregut are all described using similar images to simplify the involved anatomy. Pathologies discussed include incldue omphalocele and vitelline fistula. At the end, the video includes a link to GutRotation from Indiana University, which provides a 21 step development slides with animation and description to describe the rotation of the intestine.

Well paced video focused on the rotation of the gut. Many pictures are utilized and notes are written on the slides. Clinical symptoms, tests, and treatments are discussed with additional pictures to really help understand the points.


Embryology of Congenital Anomalies of the Midgut, Human Anatomy Education (14:33)

Dr. Akram Jaffar poses clinical vignettes with multiple choice questions to discuss cases, which makes this a great review resource. Each question is first read followed by a discussion of each answer choice to understand why it is or it is not the right answer. Additional slides and images are used to explain the topics.
